The Partnership Alliance Board of Directors
A contribution to the Greenwood Partnership Alliance is one of the best marketing and /or philanthropic investments for South Carolina area companies and organizations. Contributor status brings prominent positioning among the county’s top corporations, knowledge of new business deals and access to key local leaders. In addition, GPA contributors have the opportunity to directly impact the county’s future growth.
Who makes up the Executive Committee?
Officers are elected from the members of the Board of Directors, and serve on the Executive Committee. Members consist of Chair, Immediate Past Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Public and Private Sector Members, and the CEO. This group meets every month.
Board Level
Investment Amount: $20,000+ annual investment
Core Responsibilities
- High-level Board of Directors dedicated to enhancing the global competitiveness of the Greenwood County area. The Board of Directors has fiduciary responsibility for the organization.
- Assists in establishing economic development goals and priorities, and facilitating positive actions that drive economic competitiveness.
- Assists in selective prospecting events or inbound recruiting / project management events.
- Provides strategic guidance and counsel to the staff.
- Review, analyze and provides counsel for GPA performance and deliverables.
- Provides strategic guidance for GPA’s organizational development and market influence.
- Provides governance and fiduciary oversight of the GPA.
- Eligibility for election to the GPA Executive Committee.
- Attends Annual Meeting.
Opportunities, Recognition and Benefits
- Board Seat allows a vote governing annual budget, GPA economic development strategies, guidance around development opportunities, and governing corporate policy.
- Receives full disclosure of economic development activity (protected by confidentiality agreement).

- Assists in developing organizational goals, metrics and performance benchmarks, and governing the Plan of Work.
- Implements and executes specific GPA programs and initiatives.
- Attends Annual Meeting.
Opportunities, Recognition and Benefits
- Inclusion in “investor aggregate” to determine opportunities to serve on GPA Board of Directors (CEO or most senior executive). Eligibility for election to GPA Board of Directors via at-large seat.
- Inclusion in special invitation-only events; announcements; and receives all collateral materials.
- Prominent opportunities for recognition at GPA events, and sponsorships of GPA business development initiatives.
- Inclusion in the GPA Investor Directory, given out as a business development tool and investor tool.
