Greenwood County is fortunate to have a dedicated Workforce Development Director to serve existing industry and develop new initiatives to make Greenwood County more competitive in the labor market.
A qualified workforce with a demonstrated capability of lifelong learning is critical to the continued prosperity of Greenwood County and the success of its employers and citizens. The Greenwood Partnership Alliance in collaboration with a wide array of business, education, and community partners works to continuously improve the systems and institutions that educate and train the emerging and incumbent workforce.
Piedmont Technical College is part of the South Carolina State Technical College System. This system was developed over 40 years ago with the vision of delivering technical training to support the growing manufacturing economy in South Carolina. Piedmont Technical College is a comprehensive community college that continues the tradition of developing its seven county region with a wide variety of technical degree and certificate programs for employers. Areas of study include Electronic Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, General Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Drafting, Machine Tool Technology, and Welding.
