Piedmont Technical College
Piedmont Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education system, is a public comprehensive two-year post-secondary institution. Piedmont contributes to the economic growth and development of the largest and most diverse region of the technical college system, Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry, and Saluda counties and to the state. The college responds to the academic, training, and public service needs of the community through excellence in teaching and educational services. Piedmont has an open admissions policy and annually enrolls approximately 4,500 to 5,500-credit students. The college provides quality educational opportunities and accessibility for individuals with diverse backgrounds and ability levels to acquire the knowledge and skills for employment or the maintenance of employment in engineering technology, industrial technology, business, health, or public service or for transfer to senior colleges and universities.

Upper Savannah Council of Governments
The Upper Savannah Council of Governments Workforce Development Division assists employers and job seekers in the counties of Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry, and Saluda.
Businesses can get assistance recruiting and screening qualified candidates. Training and retention assistance is available as well. One-Stop Workforce Centers have statistical information about the area’s labor market.
Individual job seekers can get help finding and applying for job openings. Information about educational and job training programs is available. One-hour workshops on a variety of subjects are offered at One-Stop Workforce Centers. For individuals who are eligible for the Workforce Investment Act and are willing to invest in themselves. specialized services including career counseling, internship opportunities and training may be available.
A comprehensive youth program for economically disadvantaged youth between the ages of 14-21 offers activities such as internships, mentoring, occupational skill training, and summer employment.
